DescriptionCover dated June 2001.This page comes from the final issue of a six issue miniseries in which certain X-characters are sent traveling through time. It predates and is unrelated to the series of the same name that served as an extended “what if Chris Claremont had never stopped writing the X-Men?” This miniseries was a ton of fun. Written by Fabian Nicieza, it was continuity-heavy in all the right ways. The artwork was by the great Kevin Maguire, and it featured his trademark facial expressions along with plenty of action. Andrew Pepoy did an excellent job on the inks. This page is of particular importance to me personally, as it’s the page that got me started in the original art hobby. After buying two pieces of OA in the late 1990s, I didn’t take an interest in OA again until 2013, when I started looking at art online and learning about the marketplace. After a few months, I somewhat nervously decided to buy something, and what better place to start than a page by one of my all-time favorite artists, Kevin Maguire? So, in 2014 I placed a bid on this page on eBay, and the rest is history. Social/Sharing |

That is some beautiful inking by Pepoy and some great facial expressions by Maguire. Neat personal story about the page as well. So you bought this one in 2014 and just got around to posting it? Sounds like my MO, lol.

Particularly good page where Maguire can demonstrate his skills to the fullest. All the strain of emotion carries the dramatic story through the page.

Maguire is the king of facial expressions. I'd actually like to see him do a story with no dialogue where the reader follows it solely from the expressions on the characters' faces.
