DescriptionThis is the original art for Black Badge #5 page 6 by Hilary Jenkins done in gouache on watercolor paper at 11" x 17." I haven't yet read this series, or seen this art printed, so I don't know if it prints without blacks like this, or if this is just the color art, but I have to say this looks pretty spectacular by itself. The shading on the figures provides a lot of detail despite its simplicity, and I keep looking at it perhaps BECAUSE it lacks the blacks which normally provide us with guidelines for where to look and where not to look. Without that, I just keep searching the artwork for more hidden in the color. Neat.Social/Sharing |

Beautiful! I love this series, and in fact, Tyler Jenkins did the B&W line art on separate boards that goes along with these lovely color pages by Hilary J. The same outfit that's selling the color pieces is also selling the B&W pages, but some have been broken up because (I'm told) the original art is a bit disorganized, so keep your eye on their auctions and maybe the line art for these pages will surface, in case you want to reunite them. Either way, I recommend the comics!
