Description

Lupo Alberto ("Alberto the Wolf") is a famous Italian comic book series created by Guido Silvestri (Silver) in 1974.

The protagonist of the comic book, Lupo Alberto, a blue wolf, takes the shape of the common man who has a goal in life and a certain amount of bad luck. A resident of the McKenzie farm, he always tries to steal a hen named Martha (who is his girlfriend), but Moses, a sheepdog, is the obstacle to his plans and does everything to stop him.

Here's a beautiful illustration with Alberto and other two recurring characters on the series, the moles Enrico (Henry) and his wife Cesira (Esther). Of course, being a mole, Enrico has some issues with his eyesight and for some reason always calls Alberto "Beppe"... the joke here is that he seems to not be recognizing his longtime friend ("your face is not new to me...") :D

I didn't originally commission this to Silver, but glad someone else did and also happy it later ended in my collection :)
