Second panel above the artist names says it's from 1984. He would not put his name on it if he didn't do it. I would love to make an offer, but my favorite nostalgic period of the strip is in the 1930's. Back in my day, dames like Winnie were doozies that had a lot of moxie that made you slap happy. It was like the time I took the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe so I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. Give me five bees for a quarter you'd say. Now where were we, oh ya. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because if the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.

I should have dug deeper on Google as you are correct Grandpa Simpson. So I had actually glazed over the indicia because all I paid attention to was the pencilled Tues Jan 31 in the top left corner and the 1/31 with the names in the signature box. Indeed, 1984 saw January 31st on a Tuesday. Frank actually came on the strip in 1980 with Henry Raduta. Henry left in 1985 and was replaced by Leonard Starr. Good thing that was a stylish white onion instead of the lens of an ordinary yellow onion, or history would not stand corrected (like my description soon will be). Thanks Marcus!

I really like the choices the artist has made with Han and Leia here.

It was always the quiet moments during The Empire Strikes Back when the two of them got to be alone that resonated with me. Especially when they were able to settle into an office environment away from the Empire.
