DescriptionI was exposed to a lot of DC Characters in Multi-Media thanks to Challenge of the Super-Friends, The Legendary Super Powers Show, Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians, and the Kenner Super Powers toy line. However, Invasion #2 and #3 were beloved Spinner-Rack Comic Books and Invasion was my first big DC Event that I read in real-time. It introduced me to the wider DC Universe. The Doom Patrol. Mister Miracle. The Creeper. Rocket Red. Firehawk. Nemesis. The Omega Men. Nightshade. Black Orchid. One of those characters from the wider DC Universe that I was introduced to was Jim Corrigan aka The Spectre. I checked out the Invasion tie-in issue and from that moment on, The Avenging Wrath of God, became part of my DC Comics Lexicon. It's interesting to note that the surprint (The red images on stats) are not typically meant to be inked in black on the final published page. That is the entire point of using surprint. However, when it came time to digitally re-color these pages, they used hard black ink lines, which is exactly what they were trying to AVOID in the original publication. You can tell I loved this image of the Spectre from my 'homage' from 1992 (in additional images). Thanks to McSpidey Fan for one of the best McFarlane 'Hero Pages' in all of Invasion #1. And the awesome cape-ige doesn't hurt either. Social/Sharing |

McCapeland! This is a Spawn prototype with how mysterious he is drawn for a big half splash presentation!

Those pages are scarce and you got a very nice McFarlane cape-y one.

Such great '80s McFarlane goodness! Very cool image of Spectre as only McFarlane would draw him. Major score!
