DescriptionA definite grail for me, as this strip has been a huge favourite for years.Bill Lacey & writer Mike Butterworth’s hugely enjoyable story covers the adventures of a young British flyer, WWI flyer, Harry Hawkes. Harry is part of the Royal Flying Corps (R.F.C). Very much a companion piece to the later Charley’s War, published in Battle. Lacey was truly a master illustrator. Eagles Over The Western Front ran from 1971-73 in Look & Learn. A superb collected edition is available to buy from Bear Alley Books: http://bearalleybooks.blogspot.com/2020/04/the-complete-eagles-over-western-front.html?m=1 Definitely NOT for sale. The illustrations on every panel is quality comic page artistry taken a high degree. They could very well accompany prose literature and each one carries great drama and excitement.
