DescriptionChester Brown's 80s and 90s work was among the best of the alternative comics of the period, in the genre (if you can call it a genre) that expressed alienation, strange obsessions and dreamlike narrative (along with artists like Dan Clowes, Charles Burns). This one, with its slight distortion, cold architecture, ambiguous narrative and Harold-Gray-eyed character, captures that mood. Most of the original art by Brown that I have seen has been in the form of single panels, which is how he works, so a cover is nice, even a recreation.Ink on watercolor paper, approx 18x24. It wonderfully captures an in between moment and is framed with exactness and detail in linework.
