Titania by Gene Gonzales and Simon Gough

Titania is a member of the League of Super-Assassins, a group of aliens who were manipulated by the mysterious entity known as the Dark Man into attacking the Legion of Super-Heroes. But even after they were freed from the Dark Man's influence, Titania and most of her teammates remained villains, and repeatedly clashed with the Legion. Titania is super-strong, invulnerable, and a formidable fighter. She's also full of bad attitude. I commissioned Gene Gonzales to draw her, and he delivered an extremely powerful-looking Titania lifting some giant machinery, which she might be about to throw at some poor Legionnaire. I love that Gene made her so thick and muscular, and that machinery looks very cool. Also, Gene added some motion lines around the machinery to show that it is a bit unsteady in her one-handed lift. Simon Gough added some colors here that really make the piece pop! I like the background color fade a lot, and Titania's hair and shiny boots and arm bands really stand out to my eyes. Gene and Simon remain the team supreme on these commissions and I cannot thank them enough for their efforts!

A fun piece that harkens back to the days when the Thing would be able to lift Kirby machinery around for Reed's experiments. It's not for a lack of strength that it's not steady, but a matter of finding balance. They make it look believable and the colors are just the right compliment.
