DescriptionPlanetary, by Warren Ellis & John Cassaday, is a masterpiece. The story they tell through the Wildstorm characters which dip and dive into every aspect of pulp fiction, sci-fi, and super heroes is a true love letter.Issue three is their tribute to John Woo and Hong Kong cop action films. Nobody does action snapshots like John Cassiday. He is able to capture the most cinematic moments and use the comic panel format to lead you through the scene with the pace of an oscar winning director. Bang-Bang-Pause-Crash-Pause. This art is on two boards. The line work on one and the Ghost Cop in Ink Wash on another (with a bonus Ink Wash Cop in the main page). I like this page because each felt 'complete' in it's own right, and display great together. Social/Sharing |

I wondered how they did that. The second page explains it. Thanks for sharing.

I have a page from this issue, one of the best stories in the entire series IMO. Great ghost cop images on the overlay!

Very nice to see the behind the scenes for the two techniques are used and merged. It shows that Cassaday was serous about the craft and will go to great lengths to make this having a lasting quality.

This was one of my favorite pages from the whole series and was surprised to see it was still available. Congrats!

Beautiful page from an unforgettable story from a classic run! John Cassaday!! It doesn't get much better than that! :) Really cool that (on top of being such a great display of some of the things Mr. Cassaday does so well, in the ink washes and action shots) it peels back the curtain to show us a bit of the behind-the-scenes magic they used to create this landmark run. In case anyone was looking for indisputable proof that both creators were bringing their A-games to the table, they need look no further. The results of the collaboration were (and remain) a most compelling reading experience at every turn. Fantastic pick up, skrilla! Sincere congrats!
