DescriptionPublished 1989.The series was collected and reprinted in a hardcover book edited by no other than fellow art collector Brian Peck. The press release reads in part as follows: "Frank Thorne's masterful blend of medieval sorcery and modern science come together in another universe where only Ribit, the warrior women created by magic, fights the final battle to save her world from the forces of chaos and darkness." Ribit is a pet lizard that is accidentally transformed by magic into a miniature warrior woman. Won from Heritage and as detailed in my Facebook post, this one was almost lost by FedEx who possibly forged my signature and left it on my neighbor's porch. Social/Sharing |

Wait, so...Ribit didn't have anything to do with Simonson's Thor Frog? Just a lizard who turns into a hot chick on a skateboard? Well, it's beautifully drawn and it is so wonderful to know that it was recovered, in spite of the FedEx debacle!

That has the 80's look all over it. Really cool piece.

Delivery disaster narrowly avoided. Glad it made it over from the neighbor's house!

I was Thorne by the Ribit, as a lizard pet
Oh, and just like the cover
She's been skating ever since
It's been a long
A long time coming
But I know Fedex gonna come
Oh, yes it will
She's been warrior woman
But She'll go skate or die
'Cause Ribit Ollies up there
With lizard thighs
It's been a long
A Thorne time cover
But I know a Peck gonna come
Oh, edit well

Very interesting pickup here, but I love Frank Thorne in any style.

Stunning cover by Frank Thorne. I've never read the book, but the cover art is just gorgeous. So if you judge a book by its cover...it's a pretty excellent book.

Love the perspective and details, from the board to the background. Well done
