Ain�t it always the way?
Your alien symbiote costume getting between you and your best girl just when
you kiss?

Was always looking for an example of a Vance Astro page and I saw this at
Heroes Con on Friday. As opposed to most collectors, I said if it's still there
on Sunday afternoon, then it is meant to be.

The Vance/Aleta relationship was one that I was rooting for (or I was shipping them as the kids say). This moment was a return (along with the symbiote containment suit) to a more classic Vance Astro. The 100-Year Old Man, trapped in a suit that kept him alive, but unable to live as well (as he couldn't have physical interactions of affection without the suit in the way).

I was so happy for him when he an Aleta got together and this page was a real gut-punch as it knocked that relationship backwards for about 8 months and returned to the pathos of the original character. I know the last panel is cheesy as all getout, with the close-up on the white eye slit and the tears swelling - - with the whole *CHOKE* lettering to make up for the lack of 'acting' on the final panel - - but it still resonates strongly with me. I feel you Vance Astro, buddy. I feel you.

P.S. This also serves as my Alien Costume place-holder page that I didn't pay 3.5 Million Dollars for.

I'm glad you went back on Sunday and got this page. I guess it was meant to be after all (unlike this kiss 😘). At least you scored with this page even though poor Vance didn't.

In some cultures it's considered flattering if a person's alien goo tries to get on you. But those cultures are <CHOKE!> not Aleta's.
