DescriptionNow this’ll brighten your day!Of the six issues that Walt did from this run, there were apparently only 9 or 10 pages that featured both Walt’s original pencils and Scott’s inks; the rest were Scott’s (terrific) inks over blueline scans of Walt’s pencils. This is one of those penciled pages. You can see Walter’s handwritten issue notation in the bottom right, as well as his penciled page borders in the corners. And while there are no major characters featured here (besides the Sun - talk about Cosmic Marvel!) I’m positively over the moon about landing a beautiful, highly stylized full-page published cosmic splash that is purely and unmistakably Simonson. Thank you once more, Steve! Social/Sharing |

Other pages are "sick and pale with grief" for Simonson "the sun, is far brighter and more beautiful."

Simonson scale and grandeur, Avengers cosmic. No one is better at imparting a sense of awe. The first "vintage" book I ever purchased as a kid was 1st Beta Ray Bill... so damned good.

Art is often subject to the viewer's interpretation but am I the only one seeing the miracle of Life here?
I mean, the lil' swimingy thing towards the big bold egg radiating with life?
(especially at reduced pic size ^^).
Fun get (and a true tutorial for the kids!)

Walter Simonson art splash on my binge buying of last week
Indulging in my newest treat
My mind was tugged always and loved this twisted story beat
Bendis always makes the meaning deep
Now the sunny stare from just reading here an Avengers morning heat
Impaired my Marvel Cosmic-speak
And of course you can't become if you Marvel Space what you would have done
So I missed some Simonson lines of fun
I know it's up for me
Simonson my sunshine
Hanna sure ink lines in too deep

Simonson original pencils ain't easy! Like how the sun rays and the ships are breaking panel :) Congrats, man!
