DescriptionTomorrow I'll be posting another "Significant Spidey" piece of art, but otherwise, my theme this week is THE LOVELY LADIES of comicdom.And to make it even more fun, they will all be double page splashes and spreads. "Elektra: Black, White & Blood" is a collection of Elektra stories by different artists, and like the title implies, the colors are only black (plus various shades of grey), white and red. Which makes for some striking visuals. This DPS is from a story illustrated by Mark Bagley and John Dell. It begins with an alternate reality Elektra being feasted upon by a bunch of vampires. If you think this will slow her down much, you are dead wrong. She rises to her feet and (in a fantastic battle sequence shown on this DPS) proceeds to kick some vampiric ass. She finishes by killing the leader of the Pack and donning his furry coat. She then proceeds to her cabin where her daughter (yup, Elektra has a daughter in this reality) is sleeping. With eyes that now glow red, Elektra looks at her daughter and clearly sees the blood flowing through her veins. As Elektra roves around the village, the same thing happens with every sleeping person and animal she encounters. She realizes that her blood lust is too powerful to control and that everyone (including her daughter) is in danger. In a moment of self sacrifice, she lets the rising sun reduce her to a pile of ash and bones, which her horrified daughter finds the next morning. Powerful stuff. Beautiful art. Thanks for looking! I would believe it if Elektra dipped her sais in silver to get these kills on the vampires!

Paul, are you certain that this is an alternate reality Elektra as opposed to the series simply not being considered canon just so the writers can can change up certain things to fit the stories better (ie; having a daughter)?
Either way, you picked an excellent double page spread with typically fabulous Bagley storytelling. It feels very cinematic with incredible images of Elektra throughout the entire sequence!

I kind of have a hit or miss feeling towards Bagleys work sometimes. Some just blow me away and some just leave me wanting more. File this in the blown away section. Congrats!!

Mind blowing DPS! Gorgeous action-packed spread! Bagley really showcased Elektra's battle skills with every frame! John Dell's inks really enhance Bagley's pencils! Just a great pick-up!

Love it,man! Wall to wall, or panel to panel rather, action! Clear storytelling flow and you can feel the impact of some Elektra's wallops! Vampires shmampires :) Congrats, man - looking forward to more from Ladies Week!
