DescriptionTHIS IS NOT PORN!If you get the reference, then you’re a fan of the Dueling Dealers of Comic Art on the Comic Art Live YouTube channel. Each week, Bill Cox hosts Mike Burkey of romitaman.com and Anthony & Sharon Snyder of anthonyscomicbookart.com as they go head-to-head competing to sell art in a fun variation of the claim show theme. I think the show continues to attract an audience week after week not just because of the art presented, but because of the personalities of everyone involved. They’ve created a fun show full of wheeling-and-dealing, a very active live chat and funny memes. It’s clear that the entire crew, both in front of the camera and the members of the Cox family behind the camera, put a lot of time and effort into the production. As for this piece of art, it’s a small part of Dueling Dealers history. I thought it was hysterical when Mike showed it on the August 3, 2022 episode (see the video clip below, which is linked to around the 23:38 mark), which is from where the line that starts this description is taken (just watch the video – it’s better than any description I can provide). I decided a couple of hours after the show to reach out to Mike about buying the cover – not just because I think the cover itself is pretty cool, but also because I enjoyed its appearance so much on DD. To top off all of it, Mike and Bill did a video near the start of the August 11, 2022 Comic Art Fans Update #107 about the sale of the piece, which I’ve also embedded below. Thank you to Bill and Mike for this fun bit and for all of the laughs. To reiterate, this cover is not porn! But you already knew that, right? Social/Sharing |

Great pickup! Mike Burkey's reaction to this cover IT'S NOT PORN was absolutely hilarious. Bill, Anthony, and Mike do a create job making us all laugh throughout the show. Congrats on your cover!

Congrats on the fun inside joke piece! Art is such a cool thing, because you can often add a story begind it, thus making it more meaningful.

Powerful shot of Canary, and clearly a Bullock piece! I haven't watched the DD episode to this point but will definitely check it out to get in the know :) Congrats!

Thanks! If I did the embedding right, then if you click on the Dueling Dealers video link above, it will start right at the point where Mike begins talking about the piece (the other video should also start right at the beginning of the discussion of the cover).

Hahaha, yeah that was a classic moment on Dueling Dealers. "It's not porn! She's screaming!" That in itself is kind of provocative. But hey, it's a really cool cover with Black Canary exhibiting her special power. Um .. okay now everything is sounding provocative. Anyway, great get. I'm kind of jealous now that I didn't pick it up.

(Jokes aside, it's a really cool image of BC in full scream. I wish the artist could have worked the sonic title effect on the printed cover into the artwork. That would have made this even cooler, but that is just quibbling.)
