DescriptionThe all-powerful RUTH - aka BLINDFOLD (note: possessed by Proteus)Giving more love to Blindfold (Ruth Aldine) who has recently made her triumphant rebirth/return to the X-Men in LEGION OF X. This beautiful splash page from Clay Mann and Crimelabs (Mimi, Martinez, and Wong) features a powered up Blindfold after she has been possessed by Proteus during the Necrosha events. This is my second page from this really fun issue and series where the two precogs meet (Destiny and Blindfold, see my other page 18 for when they meet for first time). The art itself is really well done, Ruth isn’t known for being a really strong character in the field, but this image shows some power/strength (nice low angle to portray it) we haven’t really seen. The colorist on the published page (Brian Reber) did some nice work showing some vibration from all the power/energy pulse pouring out of her. Blindfold I’m this image isn’t very pretty either (she is usually more meek and delicate in her features), she feels a little “man-ish” and maybe that comes from her being possessed. Overall it’s a fun powerful splash of a character I really adore and glad to see back in the X fold so to speak. Social/Sharing |

Really dig the energy lines, on the art and in color. Congrats!

The worm'e eye perspective is key, and love that her face is covered, outside of that devious smile! The lighting effect is rendered great, and the inks make for some might fine details. Congrats!

Someones about to get laid out. And not in a fun way. Except maybe for Proteus. Congrats on this badass piece!

The tiny spikes of electricity in her figure's outline crackle and make her giant outburst of energy more plausible.

Now THAT'S a stunner... Heck, that's the whole disruptor! I absolutely love the variety of ways all the energy that's being thrown around here is depicted; scratchy background lines, 3-D thunderbolts (light and dark), flying debris, a pupil-like "iris" of solid energy... And the lone (smiling!) figure standing at calm repose in that eye of the hurricane... That's a Magneto-level splash, James! Beautiful work! Congrats!
