A bit of a story behind this one...

In 2021, I had this commission lined up with John Paul Leon. I was supposed to email him on a Monday, and on Sunday (literally the day before) I heard the news of his passing. We all have regrets in this hobby � I've had plenty of "Why didn't I reach out to one of my favorite artists sooner?!?" thoughts � but we also have to move forward.

Knowing how close Tommy and JP were, I thought it only fitting that he step into that commission slot. I said upfront that I didn't want or expect it to look like JPL would have done. I also didn't care which of Warlock's 57 different looks got chosen, or even if the piece was "comic accurate" at all.

When I went to pick this up at ECCC, I was more than a little surprised. I'd asked for (and paid for) a black & white piece, but Tommy said he got "carried away" and turned it into full watercolor. No, this isn't a Warlock look that's ever been seen in a comic, but it's also exactly what I hoped for: pure TLE. This will have a special place in my collection.
