Description

Published 1988.
Dr. Mayavale, Doctor R'Xalim, Dr. Mantis Morlo and Mano.

Dr. Mayavale first appeared in Legion of Super-Heroes #268 (1990) written by J. M. DeMatteis and drawn by Steve Ditko. He went insane after he was able to gain knowledge of his past lives and attacked the Legionnaires.

Dr R'Xalim first appeared in Legion of Super-Heroes #289 (1982) written by Paul Levitz and drawn by Carmine Infantino. He blamed Brainiac 5 for his dismissal from his medical post and sought revenge on Brainiac 5 and his fellow Legionnaires.

Dr. Mantis Morlo first appeared in Adventure #362 (1967) written by Jim Shooter and drawn by Pete Costanza. He became an enemy of the Legion after they shut down his illegal experiments on human subjects.

Mano was created by Jim Shooter and drawn by Curt Swan, first appearing in Adventure Comics #352 (1967) as a criminal sentenced to be executed. He is freed on the condition he helps to fight the Sun-Eater. After the Sun-eater is defeated, he joins the Fatal Five who are enemies of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Interestingly, on this page written in light blue pencil presumably by Gibbons, is
'Someday I'll look back at all this and laugh'.

Absolutely gorgeous Gibbons work! It would be fun to show him this board to see if he has any recollection of writing that notation, and if so, wht exactly he was referring to!
