DescriptionThis is a bit of an off-beat issue but I was attracted to the artwork. The Sal Buscema Spidey somehow reminds me a little of the later Ditko Spider-Man (see especially the cover to ASM Annual #2) while the Steve Leialoha inks are really nice (I think that he gets less credit than he deserves as he is, in my view, a great inker).As mentioned, the subject matter is rather unusual - not least because while it is the Black Widow kissing Spider-Man, she is doing it with a different persona (believing that she is a school teacher, Nancy Rushman). Still the page presents very well, with Nick Fury as well as the villains, Viper and Silver Samurai, depicted on this page as well. Social/Sharing |

Yes, excellent page. I remember the inks standing out, even as a kid buying this off the stands. It was a little off-beat for sure, but many were to me. Thanks for sharing.

This presents some great, wacky fun, and Leialoha's inks certainly were a favorite of mine during this era!

This is such a unique and unusual page,I love it ! It's so fun to find these off the wall pages in sometimes different places every once in a while,congrats !

Many thanks, Michael! I usually go for the "serious" pages but there was just something about this page that struck me - as mentioned, probably the artwork somehow stood out for me. I guess that it is also good to have some fun once in a while!

Besides eating, kissing is another great reason for Spidey to lift his mask up half way. This is supposed to be a Spidey and Shang-Chi team up, but he's the only one not here! So beautiful that Sal and Steve put all those romance panels with a tilted camera angle!

nice page but the last panel of the Silver Samurai and the viper is the money shot for me. love the design on that one.

Loving the kissing sequence. I love too the Spidey's "cosmic" panel. Leialoha was problably the responsible of it. Amazing pencils and superb inks!
