DescriptionWhat’s left to be said about the lasting impact Death & Return of Superman has had on me? When I started my art collection the one major goal I had was to obtain an 11x17 pin up of the major players in the storyline, namely the four replacement Supermen from Reign. The goal was to get the artists who were working on the books & who designed the looks for the characters to draw them. This piece by Butch Guice represents the completion of that goal. An opportunity arose earlier this year to get finally get a commission from Butch (notoriously had not publicly accepted commissions for years). The price included up to two figures and being that I knew I wanted Eradicator, it became clear to me on what the piece should be. Why not add the memorial statue since it was basically already cooked into the price? This one homages the pin up that was included in Action Comics 687, the debut issue of Eradicator as Superman.I absolutely love how this piece captures the cold, calculated, unforgiving nature of Eradicator. This has been a long time coming for my collection and it delivers on every level! Butch’s style has evolved over the years for the better. The dripping rain effects through the piece are just incredible to see up close and man you can just feel the energy crackling & radiating from Eradicator, ready to serve Justice on an almost emotionless level. This is the Superman you do not want to cross. Social/Sharing |

Very impressive and striking revision of the Eradicator Superman poster !! It's great to see Guice return to the character his current style !

That was my thought process exactly, to get a piece that both homages a "classic" piece from my youth. While I of course love his work from all those years ago (30!!!!), but I also absolutely love where he is at artistically today! So having him revist this one seemed like a win/win!
