DescriptionLike the rest of the world, I am a big time admirer of the great Arthur Adams. Really love his covers and commissions of course. However, it was the sequential artwork which first held a spot in my heart and continues to. The "Ultimate X" series was a re-imaged mutant world that featured in my opinion some of the finest interior pages of Arthur's career (outside of his Jonni Future epic). We are treated to full finished pencils since these were "digitally inked" to achieve the final printed pages.I was able to add a pair of these pages into my collection in the past few months. Here is the second of those. Published in Ultimate X #4 (page 22) May 2011. There was almost a year between the release of issue #3 and #4 in this series. A beautiful Jean Grey image in the final panel steals the show on this page. Looking defiant and lovely as only Adams can do. The large image of Quicksilver makes a dramatic entrance to the scene. Thrilled to have published work from Arthur that fits within my more modest collecting budget. Social/Sharing |

Yeah, I don't know too many examples of an artist that has had a "wow" factor so consistently for so long!

Gorgeous page from the incredible Arthur Adams. Don't see many of his interior panel pages on CAF. This is a great one.

I've seen some of these in person many years ago and regret not nabbing one or 2. Love how clean his pencil lines are, especially on Jean's hair here! Congrats!

You are correct. These pencils are as complete as inks. That final panel can be stared at for hours.
