DescriptionWhile a big influence on many artists Milton Caniff work hasn't always been my favorite,...until I saw this piece! As a WW2 airplane buff I just melted when I saw this come up. Every panel is a winner and a story.The first has Terry getting some advice about a girl, 'mooning over Madam Shoo-Shoo" (and a nice pic of a P-51B!) Second panel Colonel Corkin puts some fire under Terry to get him flying (and a nice pic of a P-51B!) The third panel is absolutely iconic!!! with Col Corkin seeing the P-51B taking off, just an incredible image. Fourth panel, the control guys remarking about, a now focused Terry is in a mood where he was signing, "St. Louis Blues over the radio." Caniff even wrote a little monicker "Might be Spencer Tracy in there" For me Canif can be a mixed bag, but this one is just sensational! Social/Sharing |
