DescriptionI've been slowly building a modest Legion collection and here's my first page from their Adventure Comics series. This is from the first Win Mortimer issue towards the end of the Legion run and features some goofy 1960's goodness. The top panels feature Karate Kid conveniently dropping in on Princess Projectra to check out her penthouse apartment. The bottom features Element Lad on a date using the self checkout at the movie theater. I guess the Legion really was ahead of its time! According to GCD, Jim Shooter provided layouts, but I'm pretty sure that was on separate paper and he didn't touch this art board directly. Social/Sharing |

This is a really fun page, Ted! I love how these people are team members but stil refer to each other by their code names even when they're off duty and hanging out. I mean really, Projectra couldn't just say "Won't you come in, Ralph?", or "Won't you come in, Larusso?" ?!?
Congrats on being able to build a small Legion collection, Ted. That's not an easy task with the giant of all Legion art giants, Miki Annamanthadoo, guarding the gates to that kingdom!

Great Legion page, Ted! I always enjoyed seeing what they did when they were not "working."

Those space aged curves are all over this one and as a design element, they bring a sleek and warm feel for the future. The hand done shading on PP's face is old school, but also sharp and precision taking some nerves to accomplish flawlessly.

I would think that "Cosmic Cloud That Swallowed Earth" would be a movie that Element Lad wouldn't want to see given what happened with Ferro Lad and the Sun-Eater. Just seems like it would hit too close to home.
