Description

A commissioned portrait from the great Jordi Bernet of Groucho Marx and Margaret Dumont. On a previous sketch opportunity from Bernet, the list of characters he would draw included the Marx Brothers, so when I'd saved up for a full commission from Bernet, I couldn't resist the opportunity to have him draw Groucho and his classic comedic foil.

Her presence represented the high society of the times that they both glamorized and satirized as part of their humor. That's a great choice for a commission from Bernet as his artistry does lend itself to that era based on his Torpedo stories.
