Description

Chris Warner illustrated this promotional "house" ad in 1987 showcasing the early character's who helped to establish Dark Horse Comics as one of the top "independent" comic book companies of the past 35 years. Characters shown include Concrete, Mask, Black Cross, The American, Trekker and a few others that helped to separate Dark Horse from a litany of other black and white comic book publishers who sprung up like weeds following the success of Mirage's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That 1984 release demonstrated that you didn't need to be a big corporation to successfully publish comic books for the direct sale market. Dark Horse demon. Mike Richardson founded Dark Horse in 1986 and his professionalism and vision led to the formation of a key player in the industry ever since.

About the Artist
Chris Warner first became known for his work on Marvel's Moon Knight. He went on to be an important creator for Dark Horse, working extensively on their mid-1990s line of Comics' Greatest World heroes as well as Aliens Vs. Predator.
