Description

This is a big piece. The guys from Blue Sky were celebrating their hardcover release of OUT OF PICTURE in 2006 by French publisher Paquet and were kind enough to give this to me as a gift.

Artists Robert MacKenzie, Vincent Nguyen, Daisuke "Dice" Tsutsumi, Michael Knapp, Nash Dunnigan, and Greg Couch all contributed a Blue Sky character (Ice Age and Robots) to the drawing.

More about the book. OUT OF PICTURE is a collection of short illustrated stories by a group of artists from professional backgrounds ranging from editorial illustration and children's books to storyboards and animation, who all worked together at Blue Sky Studios. This book showcases their eclectic interpretations of the comic book form.

Some of the noted Artists of the OOP include the following members of Academy Award–winning Blue Sky Studios: Daisuke Tsutsumi, Vincent Nguyen, Michael Knapp, Daniel Lopez Munoz, David Gordon, Robert MacKenzie, and Andrea Blasich.

Another piece from deep in my collection. Its been fun pulling out these pieces.

Very cool with how big they drew the characters leaving enough space for each other to fill this up. Each one has it's own animated look of charm.

Some amazing work that came out of Blue Sky, had some friends that worked their, they really enjoyed the experience before Disney bought them, then disssolved the company on the East Coast, since they already had other animation studios doing projects, less competition I suppose. Great seeing these examples of their characters.
