DescriptionAnother daily from the first half of 1939, my favorite storyline. Here we see Sanjak (now officially considered the first lesbian in comics) has hypnotized young April Kane for nefarious, undisclosed romantic plans. The Little Orphan Annie eyes were used by Caniff to show when April was under the trance. Some nice aviation art too. Another keeper.Social/Sharing |

Was "eyeballing" this one too (with all due respect to April's eyes :). Decided to sit out and glad I did. Those last two panels are KILLER.

Terry and the Pirates was the most cinematic comic strip ever, IMHO. Check out those four panels--Each from a different angle, each composted completely differently. Long shot, medium shot, long shot, close-up! Phenomenal art!
