Description

This cover is inspired by the 5-part story "Gli Evaporati" (The Evaporated), written by Bruno Enna and illustrated by Davide Cesarello, first published in Topolino magazine (#3510-3514), that falls into the post-apocalyptic horror genre, depicting a world where a mysterious fog makes the people disappear (and we don't know what happened to them).

It was surprising to find something like this in a Disney magazine, but Enna already created the gothic trilogy (Disney adaptations of Dracula/Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde/Frankenstein magnificently illustrated by Fabio Celoni) so he clearly knows how to push boundaries while not violating Disney's strict policies and directives.

And he created what right now I believe it's the very best story of 2023 on Topolino magazine (and I'm quite sure it's going to be incredibly hard to top).

The cover is masterfully illustrated by Corrado Mastantuono and it's (surprisingly) the only one dedicated to "Gli Evaporati" in the 5 issues where the story was published.

you absolutely should! you'll find themes that usually are not present in (modern) Disney stories :)
