Description

This is a page I can truly say I’ve been looking for since I started dabbling in original art. Gotham Central has such a special place in my heart for being one of my initial favorites, and it really cemented my love for the crime genre. This piece has been a long time coming. I am absolutely thrilled to finally find the right page and a cover no less featuring Batman himself who doesn’t make many cover appearances in the series. It was this series that originally introduced me to the fantastic writing team of Brubaker and Rucka and of course the artistic prowess of Michael Lark which I must say suits this book perfectly. Big thanks to Nathan for selling this to me during Comic Art Live 2023. Also this marks my second cover ever in about 9 years.

Really cool as Lark places the lighting at just the right angle in between the combatants.

Gorgeous cover for Gotham Central #30 from Michael Lark! Love the lighting on this cover--down and from behind--which puts most of Batman in silhouette as he swings down at Dr. Alchemy! The near-slihouetted figures are perfectly positioned so that we can read their body language without a lot of extraneous detail. It makes for a very graphic cover! Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
