Description

Day 29. Thirty-One days of Star Wars (2024 edition) continues!

Rogue archaeologist Doctor Aphra has made quite a name for herself in the galaxy as a
brilliant scientist and obtainer of valuable ancient artifacts. As long as the price is
right.

But Aphra's also made quite a few enemies. The Rebellion. The Empire. Everyone in between. And her latest score (a Jedi weapon of mass destruction called the Farkiller) has attracted some unwanted attention from the Rebels who ambushed Aphra and her sidekick, Vulaada.

And leading the Rebel strike team is none other than Aphra's ex, former Imperial Inspector Magna Tolvan. Can Aphra's luck get any worse?

This is the inked board by Marc Deering. Last year I posted the pencil board by Wilton Santos, which Wilton had actually ended up inking himself. I'm sure there is a story there, I'll need to ask Nicky B, as I purchased the Wilton board from him. I purchased this board from Marc during Heroes Con 2023.

This one def counts as a splash with only text on the inset panel below. Interesting that you have 2 inked versions. Another great Aphra page, always getting into trouble!

Yep, it was a surprise when I realized the Wilton page was inked after it arrived, since all of his other pages had been pencil only. The original purchaser may have asked if Wilton would go ahead and ink it also. I have zoomed in on some of the details, and Marc's inks match the published version. If I ever get a chance to meet Wilton, I'll have to remember to ask.

There, there was a time I knew
That Farkiller, come what page, love
Would prevail
And then Empire of dreams I knew
Came the Tolvan, Aphra fears
Can true luck fail
Then I would miss ink Marc would dish
And have the line done to blue
Of the kind to honor right
Faithful on blue for you

Darling, Aphra all
I will see version to hold you ink by Marc
Aphra all
I will need Wilton Santos you
I will be the one to hold you in my arms
Ink by Marc

What a gorgeous page! I think Deering did an incredible job inking this one, so much detailed work!

Great looking splash. The fine line inking by Deering is really good!
