Description

An amazing page from Matt Wagner's Mage: The Hero Discovered #11, page 6. I love the colors when they're in the Styx casino and adore the dress design on Edsel here. Wagner has a great eye for fashion and clothing, much like Chaykin during the same time period.

The blue-line consists of an acetate overlay of the pencil and ink page and a separate board containing a blue-line reproduction of the original page; Matt Wagner hand-colored the blue-line himself and has signed the piece. The original blue-line is done on a board that measures approx. 7 1/2" x 10 1/4" with an image area that is approx. that of the published comic book.

This page was not taped together, as the others I bought are, so I was able to scan the blue-line acetate overlay and hand-colored pages separately. I included them all for comparison.

Thanks! I got some great examples of his watercolor and airbrush, the two techniques he used on these

Airbrush pieces get automatically picked for CAF Updates! They bemuse and confound! Very hard to classify, even for dealers!

Wagners colors really add to 3D aspect of the printed work. Beautiful page you own.
