Description

What a great group of characters! Deathstroke, Peacemaker, Vigilante and a Checkmate Knight. I didn't commission this one. I bought this off of eBay a few years ago. I got it from the same seller of the Jim Calafiore Aquaman/Black Manta that I posted last week.

Steve Erwin was the main artist on the Deathstroke and Checkmate series (Peacemaker was a member for a while) and he did some issues of the Vigilante (which I did not know). Steve Erwin is a good solid artist and did a lot of good work for DC Comics in the 90's. He is often overlooked as an artist and he shouldn't be. Great idea for a commission. Perfect character choices, I couldn't pass it up. I always thought the costumes of the Knight and Vigilante were cool.

Nice poses on all combining for a sweet composition! Always loved Vigilantes's costume. Like a silhouette with accents. And Erwin definitely does it justice here! Congrats!

They all should not get along given how they are portrayed as solo acts in their books, but all of them have the 90's vibe of vigilante antiheroes. Erwin had tough acts to follow, but his Deathstroke series was da Bomb!

I agree, I always thought Erwin was underrated. I think he did an excellent job on the Deathstroke series and his depiction fo the character in this piece looks as good as ever. Never a fan of Peacemaker, but love the Vigilante and Checkmate Knight designs as well, super cool!
