DescriptionInspired by all the great Liam Sharp Hulk art posted recently by my good friend Eranga. here is a wonderful page from the epic Peter David Hulk 90s run. And not just any issue, the SIX MONTHS LATER story featuring the Man-Thing!I love the contrast of the thinly lined background explosion with the heavily shadowed Hulk figure (which hides some of the overly “spaghetti veined musculature which was the only think I wasn’t crazy about from this era). Formidable and protective. Both sides make the Hulkster, fundamentally Hulkster.

So magnificent! Liam Sharp knew that he couldn't add the detail within the Hulk's figure, so he proceeded to go all out to make the explosion and flame have all the eveloping power and detail!

Very cool splashy page! I always thought Hulk looked a bit like Strong Guy with these eyewear. I do also like the sillouhette against the explosion here -- Great grab Dave!

I pretty much abandoned the title after Gary Frank left (actually almost did it after Keown left), but I do regret not sticking around for Liam's run. Just a great page buddy, congrats!

Thanks Eric! I felt like I would stop when I heard Keown was leaving but Gary stepped in very nicely. I wanted to leave when GF left but kept buying issues - although I wasn't reading them right as they came out. Peter David kept me going - such a great run.

Totally agree with you about the awesome contrast between the thinly lined explosive effects and the dark Hulk image. Makes for a stunning and very unique looking splash. Major congrats!

The storytelling shift from the Peter David/Gary Frank run to David/Sharp was pretty drastic, but it helped to keep the book fresh (the fact that David had such a long run without devolving into something like Cap Wolf was impressive). Very cool page!

Gorgeous Incredible Hulk page by Liam Sharp and Robin Riggs. Love the simplicity of the splash top of the page, with thin swirling lines representing the explosion and a barely outlined black silhouette representing the Hulk holding the child. Incredibly simple, but incredibly powerful. Great pick-up, congrats!

Yeah, love the explosion and subsequent light source is all coming from behind, with the Hulk almost being a full silhouette. Gives even more of a "protector" vibe, gently holding the woman. Very nice, JG. Congrats!

Great contrast on display between the explosion and the silhouette of Hulk in full protect mode. The four panels below add to an already impressive splash that equal one great interior page!

Not sure how I missed this one. I didn't appreciate Liam's work when the book was coming out but I have grown fond of it in recent years.
