Description

I do not usually purchase original artwork based almost solely on personal aesthetics. However, this is one of the rare exceptions. The detail on this page is literally off the charts and the overall power and intensity of the piece is unusual, in my view at least. Surtur battling Odin and Thor in a no holds barred splash page. The scan does not do justice to this brilliant piece of artwork. Many thanks to Nick for this amazing artwork.

Great looking page. It only took me quite the look to find Thor in the backgroud. The intricate details are just marvelous!

Many thanks, Duke!  Yes, the detail is insane.  It took me a while at first to locate Odin as well.

It's so funny that you say that, because I saw Thor and Surtur immediately and was having trouble finding Odin! I mean, I found him, it's just that my eyes locked in on that white bear head and didn't know who that was, so I began wondering if Odin had turned into some sort of "bear character" in modern comics!

CAB, the scan certianly doesn't do the actual piece any justice, as the line art is all pixilated. Which, given that the scan was likely made by the inker who has to submit a good quality image for publication, you'd think all artists could offer better quality jpg scans to collectors, but I digress. It is indeed a great looking piece!

Watcha talkin about Willis?! Surfer??? Do you mean the Silver Surfer?

Actually I totally didnt see Odin, I hought it was Thor, Blue Devil Dude and the bear dude from Dalgoda!  I am sure all of this would have been solved with a color scan.

OMG, Dalgoda! There's a blast from the independent past!

Actually, Rubén, I also had difficulty spotting Odin in the first instance as he was wearing, as you say, so much paraphernalia.  Yikes, we may be more similar than even we think!

Hey Duke, it's difficult enough to cope with Rubén.  Do you need to make things worse?  LOL!

An incredibly beautiful page!  The Djurdjevic page that I had, and I'm glad that if it was going to leave my collection, that it went to yours CAB!  I know that this fits in perfectly with a collection as great as yours.

Many thanks once again, Nick, for parting with this amazing page.  Rest assured that it has gone to a good home.

This can be a scene painted in Odin's throne room as a fresco.  It is a part of Asgardian lore to be passed down to through generations!

Many thanks, Marcus!  Once again, you have come up with a quite different (yet very apt) take on a piece of original art!

Fantastic splash!  The kind of image where the figures gradually emerge from the amazingly detailed overall scene, so that you continue to look at it in a different light.  Definitely a feast for the eyes, congrats!

Many thanks, Paul!  You are absolutely spot on because that was precisely my own experience as well in the beginning.

Whoaa! Great Thor cover by Marko Djurdjevic and Danny Miki! Very detailed image of Odin and Thor battling Surtur! Wish I could see the original because I'm sure it's even more of a knockout in person!

Many thanks, Bill!  Although it is in fact just a splash it is more than cover worthy.  And you are absolutely correct - it is fantastic in person.
