DescriptionWONDER WOMAN # 183, page 11 by Mike Sekowsky and Dick Giordano 1969.I've finally been able to add a "NEW LOOK" Wonder Woman page to my collection. In 1968, DC decided it needed to revamp the look and feel of Wonder Woman. They stripped away her superpowers, ditched the traditional costume in favour of the 60s-inspired Mod dress and turned her into a feminist kung fu master. This bold change in direction was drawn by Sekowsky and inked by Giordano. This new look was a hit and this storyline ran until 1972. It is said that Sekowsky used the likeness of fashion model Joyce Miller for Wonder Woman. The accompanying photo shows Joyce with Mike in the DC office, this picture was likely taken in mid-1969 judging by the DC books on the wall. We often say that one of the best things about our hobby is the friends we have made along the way. When I spotted this page on eBay, I knew immediately that I wanted it. Unfortunately, the seller refused to sell to Canadian customers. My good US buddy - The Mighty Hal, stepped in and bought the art on my behave and then shipped it north of the border. Great DC half page beauty! This good girl art is off the charts groovy with an emotional teary scene! A little bit of I-Ching as well with the villains licking their chops!
