DescriptionLike most collectors in this hobby I’ve had a great admiration for the king Jack Kirby. I’ve always respected his importance in the history of comics and therefore always strived to find a page that was right for me. The challenge for me is that I usually don’t focus on traditional superheroes/capes. Out of all the amazing characters he created, one character instantly drew me in above all else, and that character was The Demon Etrigan. I knew from the moment I discovered this character, that if I were able to obtain an original it would be a Demon page. My interest in the paranormal/occult was a natural match for this particular character, and the characters later interactions with other DC supernatural characters made me an instant fan. I’m so excited to add my first Kirby to my collection and even more excited that it’s a page from my absolute favorite Kirby creation.Gone! Gone! The form of man. Rise! The Demon Etrigan! Major thanks to Mr. Bechara for this piece. Social/Sharing |

Kirby Demon pages are some of the most sought after of the Fourth World era! It has an epic poem feel as each panel mounts tension! The Royer inks are fabulous over the powerful impact of Kirby's more passionate works of the 70's.

I had the pleasure of seeing this in person this weekend, I guess just before you picked it up. It's a great choice! That top panel exemplifies the power that only Kirby could call on. One observation about how he did that: Kirby doesn't just draw the impression of a blast--he draws a unique, specific blast with a defined impact point. You see the large rock sheared clean in half, the secondary boulder caromming off that at a different angle. Jack never phones it in!

Phenomenal Demon page from Jack Kirby! It's classic Kirby, with epic action scenes, strange looking characters, and, of course, over the top dialogue! Congrats on a fabulous pick-up!
