Always wanted a Breccia page, finally found one in my price range but also one that is all about the design and very striking. Yeah I know it is mostly type but it is what makes it special.

Everything the godfather touched was brilliant. I really like hte use of typography as a character and a design element. I don't think anyone else to date has caught up with the experimentation and innovations Breccia did in the late 60's to the mid 80's. The comic was not ready for him then and probalby still isn't.

Maybe a few like Sienkiewicz or McKean have pushed that same experimental envelope but it is a hard sell. Publishers and readers don't quite know what to do with it nor want to take that chance. And it is a shame cause it makes for some really great successes of marrying images and type. Breccia was a master and it totally shows on this page.
