There are so many great Italian and other European artists we never get to know over here. I have liked the work Rotundo did on comics that I have seen over the years but when I saw this image came up, it was an easy choice.

Massimo is a great (and still very underrated) artist! Just think that he's also a brilliant costume designer and storyboarder, who worked for acclaimed movie and theater stars, like Martin Scorsese (Gangs of New York), Paul Verhoeven (Crusade), Julie Taymor (Titus) and Milena Canonero, just to name a few!

Well designed illustration that harkens to old world craftsmanship and the color tones shift subtly to put it more in the 80's.
