Description15 x 22 page originally serialized in Seth's Palookaville series and later collected in 1996.I already own pg. 34 from Seth's story about his obsessive search for a forgotten New Yorker cartoonist, Jack "Kalo" Kalloway. However, I couldn't pass up the following page, continuing an exchange in a diner between Seth and fellow Canadian cartoonist Chester Brown, when I saw it for sale at the recent Original Art Expo in Orlando. "It's a good life if you don't weaken" is still my favorite Seth comic. And a two-page sequence to boot! Wonderful.

I like his later and current work but like you this is still my favorite Seth story, with Wimbledon Green a runner-up

What a find! Such a memorable story and I have a soft spot for comic tales about comics/cartoons. Seth's lines are so distinctive and he only spots a few carefully placed black shapes in a pleasing pattern on each page. Love his character design for himself and especially CB

I'm commenting in the morning
At the diner on the corner
I am reading the New Yorker
For the man to pour the story
And he fills ink on the art page
And before I even argue
He is looking out for Kalo
And some comic coming in
"It is always nice to see you"
Seth's the man beside the Chester
To the artfans who has come in
He is shaking the Canada
And you took the other page
As I'm missing, Orlandos
And I'm pretending not to read them
And instead Palookaville

A lot going on with these revised lyrics! Took me back to the days after this song came out and Suzanne's career took off when I used to get so many "Are you related to...?" questions.
