Description

On a trip to Chicago I randomly picked up this Graphic Novel by Sean Phillips and Ed Brubaker purely based on Ed Brubaker being the writer. On my way home I went on to google the book and learned this pair has been teaming up for quite some time (I'm sure this is old news to so many) and by the time I got home I had ordered "Pulp", "Bad Weekend" and a yet to be released "Fatale Compendium". Looked up the original art and for whatever reason this owl stared directly into my soul. It's such a simple yet moody image.

The is a Chapter Break Splash page and pg 55 of the Graphic Novel.

"A One aaaa Haaaa TtWhooooooooo A....I SEE YOUR SOUL!"

Dramatic and stylish splash! Everything Brubaker and Phillips do it fantastic IMO, but check out Reckless; Wrong Place, Wrong Time; and Bad Night

This is a great splash. You should read the criminal and Reckless books. IMO it is their best work. Lots of great storeis to enjoy.

I envy you for being able to read Bad Weekend for the first time. My favourite comic of the past five years, and should be especially relevant to fans of original comic art. Yes, Hal and Jacob's monologues are crying out for dramatic readings. (Night Fever was excellent too, although I'm still not sure what happened at the end.)
