C2E2 2012, 9 x 12 commission

Tim did the covers for the first few issues of Queen and Country, the first trade paperback, and his covers were reused for all the definitive editions. Queen and Country interior artists changed constantly throughout the series, so I ended up associating Tim's cover art as the look for the series more than anyone else's.

By 2012, Tim Sale was already a superstar. These convention drawings had that dark air of mystery and noir that all his best works had. This was definitely a more of a sure thing as there were more hoops to go through than just being early for other artists.
