DescriptionPublished 1971The Tomb Be Their Destiny written by Bob Haney Haney weaves a tale where Romeo and Juliet are 'reincarnated' as Romeo Loggia and Lilith. But there is third person Calibano, alive again after seven centuries with an unrequited love for Juliet who lurks in the Shadows. George Tuska was identified as the penciller for this issue in the letters page of Teen Titans #39. Social/Sharing |

I thought Tuska and Cardy made a good team on the Titans. Love this splash page.

Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight, and hurt not.

Yes, it's much ado about nothing, a tempest in a teapot.

A lovestruck Romeo sang the streets reincarnate
Letting Cardy Haney know Tuska love song that he made
Finds a new life, steps out of the shade
Says Lilith like, "You and me, babe, now a comic?"
Juliet says, "Hey, it's Romeo, you Speedy gave me an art attack"
He's underneath the pencils, she's singing, "Hell yea, my boyfriend's back
You shouldn't Robin ‘round here singing Calibano like that
Anyway, what Tomb got reincarnated?"
"Juliet, the nice was Loggia from the start
And I bet, and you reloaded Nick to my art
And I forget, I forget destiny’s strong
When you gonna realize it was just Titans tomb was wrong, Juliet?"

Great find!! The perfect amount of Cardy to soften Tuska's rough edges. Love the splash panel and how Donna's wardrobe perfectly captures the 70s vibe. And the title lettering is fantastic!

Judging by the blue pencil on DC pages of the 1970s, the main job of the editor was ensuring that art lines never crossed panel or word balloono borders.

I love how Cardy's lush, inking approach helped to soften up Tuska's harsher line style. It's a really gorgeous piece overall.

Not sure how Nick got the sole art credits before (as you note in your description) Tuska got the penciller credit. Nick never did full pencils, the editor should've had the letter correct the credits immediately. In any case, great looking page !!
