DescriptionJesse Carl Vinyl - Record Store Day Event Poster/Flyer Promo ImageArt by Aaron Conley Jesse Carl Vinyl is a vintage/retro music shop (vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and more) in Lakeland, FL. This artwork, showing 2 hip racoons digging through trash and pulling out sweet vinyl record finds was done by Aaron Conley, for a Record Store Day Event Poster/Signage/Flyer purposes at the shop (in 2023 I believe but I could be wrong). This piece was a gift given to me as part of a Secret Santa gift exchange between several collectors on CAF last December/holiday season. Thanks again to Daryl R for the gift and to George H who originally had the piece and passed it on to Daryl for gifting to me! I've spent the last 20+ years working primarily in the music business, and have seen some cool Record Store Day merchandise and promotional materials over the years since it started in April of 2008. So it's pretty cool to add an art piece related to it in some way, especially a "local" way for a small business that sells albums. I don't have many music related pieces, but there is a separate galley folder for that in my main gallery if you want to take a look. The back of the piece also has a nearly completed prelim version, added a scan of that to additional images. And if you're in the FL area, go check out: www.jessecarlvinyl.com Social/Sharing |

What a great gift for someone who has worked in the music industry. I love the idea of raccoons trash hunting and finding vinyl records

Jesse Carl got all my vinyl
Conley told me it won’t see a trash heap
Summer came like comicon, so sweet
Bought so much done in brush in twenty three
Maybe sometimes we got it wrong
But it's alright
The more gifts seem exchanged
The George and Daryl’s game
Racoon illustrate
Go to your records store
Tell me your favorite’s on
You go ahead, get your Aaron
Poster of old CDs
I hope you get your dreams
Just go ahead, get your Aaron
Your Santa finds yourself somewhere, somehow

Fun record store day promo piece, expressing the joy of finding those little treasures in someone else's junk pile.

You just know these raccoons are listening to Sublime, Jack The Radio, and all kinds of other badass music! 🎵 🤘

A very nicely illustrated piece. I really dig Conley's style here and the subject matter is also pretty fun, too! Speaking of vinyl, I went to my local Toys r' Us a few days ago for the first time in a long while and where they used to have a couple of aisles of board games, they nhave replaced them now with a section for vinyl albums and rock t-shirts! I think they're just trying to throw things at the wall to see of anything sticks in an attempt to keep business going, but since they're not known for music and they don't advertise, I doubt it's going to work out very well. But it was still really cool to see!

This is such a fun piece! Love how it found its way into your collection. I just made my first Record Store Day purchase this year, the soundtrack to Spawn! Just me over here refusing to leave the 90's!!

When darkness falls
Leaving shadows in the night
Don't be afraid
Wipe that fear from your eyes
Oh how I miss Cyril.
