Description

15.5" x 10" image area. Ink and screentone over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board. Avengers #297 Page 7 original art (Marvel, 1988). John Buscema and Tom Palmer. Fantastic close-up images of several of the Avengers but the wonderful image of the Black Knight on the last panel is what really hooked me.

Nebula's (Ravonna) attempt to breach the Time Bubble fails, leading her to a solution of joining the Avengers. Doctor Druid, Thor, She-Hulk, and Black Knight appear on this page

From the "Futures Imperfect!" story. Conclusion of the Cross-Times Kangs saga. The current Avengers' line-up resigns.

Really cool when this collaboration of Buscema and Palmer has reached this level of maturity. They would only last to issue #300 so you'd see them ramp up the details and the dry brushline even more prominently.

I remember these issues, I picked them up at the local Dairy Mart. I've always loved the art on these and this is a great example.

Again, Palmer over Buscema breakdowns. What a tremendous collaboration this was ! Would love to see the entire Avengers/Buscema/Palmer run reprinted and recolored with modern coloring techniques in Marvel's Epic Collection format. Congrats on owning this great page !
