Description

Aelfyre Whitemane, scion of the Kymellian royal house travels to Earth to dissuade the inventor of a revolutionary energy source from continuing his work, as in the wrong hands, could cause a planet-wide extinction event. Hounded and grievously wounded by the evil and relentless Snarks, his plan is ultimately successful due to the help of his four young allies, Alex, Julie, Jack and Katie Power. As far as I recall, this art was never published – June drew this more for reference. And a finer, more fanciful alien has rarely graced the comic page.

As pivotal as Abin Sur for the Green Lantern lore, Aelfryre Whitemane's sacrifice is at the core of Power Pack's origin. Very symbolic of the times as this look and design could be found in fantasy cartoons with magical horses like Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony back in 1984 and even further back in the 70's. Brigman's gentle line takes this look to the fullest! No inks can make this any better or capture more of the feeling this imagery sparks.
