Description

I've enjoyed seeing Eranga draw his X-Men reinterpretations and knew that I'd likely buy one eventually. Before visiting HeroesCon this year, I didn't know what else to get, but was thinking of a concept with Storm during her Punk Rock Mohawk era. I've always enjoyed the stories done by BWS for Lifedeath and when she took over as the leader of the XM by Rick Leonardi during issues of UXM #186, 198 and 201. With X-Men '97 doing a solid adaptation, it had increased my desire for a Storm piece.

When I was flipping through Eranga's portfolio, I came across this piece and knew instantly that I needed it. I had a concept of nearly the same exact image in my head where Storm was flying above and controlling the weather with Forge witnessing on the ground. Eranga had mentioned he wanted to do a homage between the two Lifedeath covers and gave Storm more of a regal presence and forcing Forge to sit instead rather than Storm. Must've been fate!

Eranga knows his X-Men lore! That's why his X-Men pieces have that extra zing to them! With the animated series being inspiration, you can bet it lit up his imagination to get this image out of his fine and beautiful head!
