Seeing this instead of Doom art reminds me of House of Dragon S2 where fans are expecting something to actually happen. Instead they're left disappointed.

I agree. Best character development by Yost and Nicieza. Tynion tried to bring him back to his 90's self and then of course, that became undone as well.

This is great. Magneto is actually one of my favorite 'villains' but only from these runs: Claremont UXM era pre-New Mutants, Jim Lee XM, Lobdell/Nicieza's Fatal Attractions and Bunn's solo.
I also feel like Balent's style has developed to where his commissioned work's not quite recognizable to his 90's run and/or is more erotic than his published material.
