DescriptionThe calm before the storm (conveniently the issue's title). On the edge of the Occlusion Zone, the Republic outpost on Eriadu is a safe place for a reunion of allies. After a year of hoping, searching, and daring rescues, Zeen, Lula, and more friends have made their way to this new home. Reunited, it's time to face their destiny and stand together against the fearsome onslaught of the Nihil from beyond the Stormwall. What new challenges await our heroes on the next leg of their journey? Here on the opening page, Lula reflects on all that has happened in the last year of her life. Wonderful inks by Le Beau over Harvey's blue lines of his always detailed pencils. Le Beau now has pages from issues 6, 7, and 8 priced and posted in his CAF gallery (https://cafurl.com?i=30584) for those other Star Wars collectors out there looking for some High Republic goodness. So have you had that awkward conversation yet with your kids about what happened to all the younglings?

I don't have kids, but I try to bring it up with random kids in doctor offices. Always a delight and quick conversation starter.

If this is pencilled by Harvey Tolibao, then who exactly is Daniel José Older???

He's the writer, and overall the lead story architect for the Star Wars: The High Republic era novels and comic series.

Ah, gotcha. It's not common for artists to write in the writers' names on the artwork these days, especially on the line reserved for the penciller. The force is strong with this one...

Something abou those rounded edge middle panels that adds a lot to the overall flow...can't put my finger on it but I dig that actually! Also, some great detail, and you gotta love the establishing headshot up top followed by the other scenes. Cinematic stuff! Congrats, Jeff!

Who can resist a one page character origin recap, right? And the third panel in that middle sequence has an indentation in the bottom border, creating a cockpit control panel for that scene with the negative space. A nice little detail.

that first panel is just so damn gorgeous, the rest of it is also pretty awesome - Harvey is just amazing and I'm enjoying seeing work from this inker over him for the first time. nice!
