DescriptionGrafity's Wall Story Pg. 4 (Pg. 13) Splash - Chapter 1Art by Anand Radhakrishnan (Anand RK) Written by Ram V Another page from the excellent graphic novel Grafity's Wall written by Ram V with art by Anand Radhakrishnan, released by Dark Horse Comics in 2020. Our main character Suresh (aka Grafity) just wrapped up tagging a Mumbai city wall and has a moment to stand back and look at his latest masterpiece. Little does he know he's about to be in big trouble, running away from the police starting on the next page. For me this is one of the best pages in the book that sets off the tale right from the start in an eye appealing way, and is a great representative piece to encapsulate the mood/feel of the entire graphic novel. The main character doing what he does best and taking a moment to appreciate his own work. And the artist drawing the scene is sort of doing the same thing in a meta sort of way. Anand put a lot of detail and effort into this splash page and the final colored version is quite enjoyable as well (there are 3 colorists credited on the book and Anand is one of them, although I'm not sure the difference on who did what on each page). Not only is this the original art for this splash page, but the OA itself as is was published in the deluxe edition of the book. There is also a prelim/layout for a page on the back (adding to additional images) although that ended up being for a different panel page, not this one. Social/Sharing |

I like the Peter Max influence in the graffiti. Even in black and white this screams psychedelica!

I got this from Cam back when he was repping Anand. I knew it was the one I was going to go after and I had the lightning fast trigger finger I guess lol. No special favors, just good internet and a piece I was motivated to not let anyone else grab before I could.

This is a show stopper page. How I felt about his page with the airpalnes from Blue and Green I absolutely had to snag. His work is so powerful I really am surprised he hasn't hit superstar status yet. He is a master with ink or tone, Congrats.

Amazing splash page! Looks like Anand snuck in some 60's American psychedelia, not to mention he seems to think Big Bird is female and a trashy slut. Next time you get high, stare at this and tell me what you see. So awesome!

haha, there may have been a Pink Floyd album involved playing in the background at the same time when I first got this piece ;-)

So much imagery blended together in a submlime menageries. Gotta take your time to take everything in - love that about some art. Anand's unique voice shines here! Congrats!

Another great indie series and this is a stellar page from it! The abstract art style makes for a unique splash page.
