DescriptionMy second-ever ComicLink win! This second installment of Legion Secret Files - published alongside the ongoing main Legionnaires and Legion of Super-Heroes titles - was the beginning of a considerable transition for the Reboot Legion. It was the first Legion story written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, who would go on to become the main writers of the series, ushering in a slightly darker, grittier age for this Legion, often referred to as the "DnA" era. Fittingly, this issue also features the first appearance of the Blight, the entropic, energy-feeding race of beings who Abnett and Lanning would use as the means to take the Legion down the fresh path they had envisioned for it.Here, we see the Legion dealing with the aftermath of a Blight infestation on a previously-forested moon, which has left the moon barren and the native population of arboreal apes corrupted into vicious monstrosities. Though neither of them were regular Legion artists, Wojtkiewicz and Vines bring their own energy to the team, with a sleek, clean, stylized look. I also enjoy the creative approach to the panels on this page: the first one has some uniquely curved edges which give it a shape I'm not sure I've ever seen in any other comic, and the bottom three get progressively longer. This page is notable because it features three characters who were (more or less) unique to the Reboot Legion: Sensor the snake (who is so separate from Princess Projectra/Sensor Girl she really is her own character), Kid Quantum II, and Thunder, who wields the power of Shazam. Thunder in particular had very few appearances (and even fewer as a proper member of the Legion), so it was great to be able to pick up a page that featured her prominently. My favourite part of this page is the third panel, which features Brainiac 5.1 seeming quite unrattled by the massive battle that's just taken place, and also his pet monkey Koko, who is decidedly more rattled. Brainy 5.1!? Windows must have tricked Brainy into doing a forced update, they always get me too!

Long story short, he walked into an anomaly in the fabric of space and time and walked out with a worse haircut and dots on his forehead. On the plus side, the "upgrade" allowed him to mentally control his forcefield like a construct, instead of having to manually use the controls on his forcefield belt.

So much going on with this fun page! Congrats!
Thank you! I do love the blend of huge action in the first panel and then some quieter moments in the bottom ones.

Look at those smiles in the big panel! Who wouldn't get caught up in their revelry and comraderie?

I'm a Thunder fan too. I can appreciate your fortune in nabbing this page in light of her dearth of appearances. Huge congrats to you!
