The new frame definitely puts the focus back on a historic piece of original art.

The cover that shocked the world of Comix! As it marked the official arrival of counterculture into the medium and opening up a new tributary for creators to express themes that challenged the status quo!

I have always found this a very disturbing image of a very disturbed individual. I mean, we all know whats plugged into what. Roberts memorably manic vision in full flow here. Having said that, it's great.

The shot heard round the world. Man, that first issue of Zap Comix was like an atom bomb went off. It was the beginning of a whole new era of comic art that changed the assumptions of everyone. Suddenly comic artists were leading the rest of the art world in what would be drawn, what could be expressed and what a comic book could be. This comic was the beginning of a whole new way of seeing comic books as more than just children's entertainment. Suddenly comic books could be for adults. That began right here, with this book. Epic. Iconic. Historic.
